The library recognizes Rutherford’s need for a space for teens to safely gather. Our next renovation will include the creation of a space on our mezzanine geared towards students in grades 7-12: the Teen Lounge. This project is part of our 5-year Strategic Plan:
GOAL I: Increase engagement with teens in grades 7-12.
Objective A: Furnish a dedicated, appealing, and safe physical area for teens to congregate in the library, providing space for socialization and reading alongside additional book displays.
The Rutherford Public Library Foundation is currently fundraising to make the Teen Lounge a reality. To donate, please click here. Concept drawings have been created by Stonefield Engineering. Take a look at the project’s potential!
