Part Time Bookkeeper
Rutherford Public Library seeks a part time Bookkeeper to perform basic accounting and finance work. This position requires approximately 8-10 on-site hours per week. The exact shifts are flexible, but work must be completed during the morning or afternoon hours.
Basic duties include:
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Creation of monthly financial reports
- Bank reconciliations and deposits
- Payroll preparation
- Office supply procurement
- Assisting the Library Director and Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees with annual budgets and finance-related projects as assigned
The ideal candidate must have demonstrated experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel, as well as at least one year of bookkeeping experience. A strong attention to detail and knowledge of basic arithmetic functions are a must. Library or municipal experience is preferred but not required. Candidates must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
The hourly wage for this position is $24.91. Benefits include paid sick and vacation time and enrollment in a deferred compensation plan. Per the NJ First Act, employees must reside in New Jersey within one year of hire.
